Trees, Parks and Neighborhood Beautification Initiatives

Maintaining and improving the beauty and livability of the North Loop is part of what makes our neighborhood so special. Here are a few of our initiatives. Your financial support will help us continue our efforts.

  • Monthly Service Saturdays – dedicated to litter pickup, weeding boulevards, graffiti removal and ongoing neighborhood maintenance
  • Maintenance of the Welcome Park and North Loop monument at 3rd and Washington Avenues
  • Opening up of our view of the river and ongoing maintenance of James Rice Park and the North Loop Playground, including removal of buckthorn and other invasive plants, dead and weed trees, and planting trees and native and perennial plants
  • Continuous monitoring, maintenance and watering of our hundreds of trees
  • Collaborating with Juxtaposition Arts to create murals in the North Loop Root District near the Farmers Market
  • Maintenance of the neighborhood dog park
  • Purchasing additional trash containers for the neighborhood
