In 1977, Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager opened a night club that would make history. Launched at the peak of the disco era, Studio 54 became world famous for its decadent dance parties, its exclusive celebrity guest list, and famously unpredictable and harsh door policy. Getting in was like winning the lottery. Even big stars were often turned away. But there were some notable regulars like Cher, Liza Minnelli, Andy Warhol, Richard Gere, Debbie Harry, Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, and Bianca Jagger.
