NLNA Pedestrian Safety Meeting

May 10, 2018 @ 4:30 pm

Pedestrian safety is a top North Loop priority. One area of particular concern is the crossing at 2nd Street and 4th Avenue and the high speed traffic on 2nd. The North Loop Neighborhood Association has arranged for a meeting with a number of city and MPD officials to hear our concerns and help address these issues.

Date & Time: Thursday, May 10th at 4:30pm

Location: The outside area by the pedestrian crossing on 2nd Street by the RR bridge (Heritage Landing community room at 415 1st Street is also reserved for this meeting in case of inclement weather, and potentially for follow-up discussion).

Attendees:
Steve Fletcher – 3rd Ward Councilmember
Eddie Frizell – 1st Precinct Commander, Minneapolis Police Department
Renee Allen – 1st Precinct Crime Prevention Specialist, Minneapolis Police Department
Minneapolis Public Works representatives

The primary focus is the two pedestrian crossings on 2nd Street (by the RR bridge and the Star Tribune) and more enforcement in the neighborhood around speeding on 1st and 2nd Streets. Public Works will also be talking about the pedestrian crossing improvements coming in 2019.

Please join us in providing input into the resolution of these serious neighborhood safety issues. All are welcome!
