Stay in the Loop

Former MN Twins Sous Chef Gets His Own Kitchen Here

The newest kitchen concept at North Loop Galley is Ottimo, an eclectic new addition from Duran Ross who spent 12 years as a sous chef for the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. This is the first place he can call his own.

“I wanted to bring something new and special to the North Loop,” he said. “This is like a dream come true.”

Ross is doing a soft opening this week with a limited menu but starting December 6th, he’ll offer everything from rigatoni to grilled cheese and smash burgers to ricotta wontons.

“It’s pretty much an American menu,” he said. “We’re going kind of eclectic, doing some things that I like, trying to open it up and give you a lot of different options.”

Ottimo (pronounced OTT-tuh-moe) is Italian for “exquisite or excellent.” The new kitchen will be open alongside Ono Hawaiian Plates, Wrecktangle Pizza and Kawae Ramen inside North Loop Galley Tuesdays-Sundays.
