Gavin Kaysen’s New Restaurant Opens In June

We’re now just two months away from being able to experience the latest dining concepts from Gavin Kaysen, the award-winning restaurateur who brought Spoon and Stable, Demi and Bellecour to the North Loop.

In June, he’ll open a Mediterranean restaurant and bar, Mara, just down the street in the brand new Four Seasons Hotel, Minnesota’s first 5-star hotel. He also designed a more casual cafe for the hotel, the Socca Café which will offer grab-and-go options.

Mara’s website promises “vibrant, evocative dishes inspired by the heritage and cuisines of the region, known for sparking conversation and connection.”

In an interview with the Star Tribune, Kaysen said he drew from his European travels as a young chef to develop Mara’s menu. He told Mpls St Paul Magazine that visitors to Spoon and Stable recently may have noticed a few specials that will ultimately be offered at Mara.

The new restaurant will begin taking reservations through the website in May.
