Stay in the Loop

Get Informed: Sept. 3 Ward 5 Candidate Forum

The League of Women of Voters will host a series of candidate forums for the upcoming City elections on November 4. The first one for some North Loop voters takes place on September 3, with a rain date of September 4.

The North Loop includes two city council wards, Ward 3 and Ward 5. The main boundary between the two is along N. 4th St, so if you live west of N. 4th St., you’re in Ward 5. If you’re not sure which ward you live in, use this map from the City of Minneapolis to enter your address and find out.

Current Ward 5 Council Member Jeremiah Ellison is not running for re-election, and no candidate was endorsed at the Ward 5 convention in May. The candidates currently running are:

Ethrophic Burnett

Maurice Ward

Pearll Warren

Miles Wilson

Anndrea Young

Questions for the candidates can be submitted in advance to vote@lwvmpls.org.  Written questions will also be taken at the forum.
