Indoor Golf Returns To North Loop With Opening Of Five Iron
Picking up right where Thr3 Jack left off, one of the fastest-growing companies in the Golf Entertainment industry, 5 Iron Golf, is bringing state-of-the-art Trackman simulators, a lively sports bar and event space to the North Loop (729 Washington Avenue North).
While open to players of all skill levels, 5 Iron Golf provides extra features to help serious golfers improve their swing. Besides having a training staff on hand to provide instruction, there are high-speed cameras set up in each bay to provide instant replay and help players compare their swing to the pros.
“You can look at your golf swing from every angle and watch yourself on the monitor,” said Danielle Kindelmann, VP of Marketing. “You and/or your coach can draw swing lines to make sure you see where your swing is.”
The bar area looks much the same as Thr3 Jack, with the addition of some colorful artwork and neon signs. There are TV screens for guests to enjoy even if they’re not playing the golf simulators and there are other games like foosball and a pool table available.
5 Iron, with 33 centers across five countries, has a partnership with Callaway, which means high-quality clubs in the simulator bay for guests to use. The company offers optional memberships which provide unlimited playing time and discounts on lessons, food and drink.
“We are for the serious golfer,” Kindelmann said. “We open at 6am for people to come in before work, hit a few golf balls and look at all the feedback on their swing.”
5 Iron got its start in 2017 on 5th Avenue in the Flatiron District of New York, which is how it got its name. Its facilities are mostly in colder-climate U.S. states along with franchises in Dubai, Australia, Singapore and India.
