Jaxen Grey Moves Into A New Home Of Its Own
Three years ago when he started a brand new men’s clothing store in the North Loop, owner Michael Druskin was happy to share space with other retailers inside D.NOLO.
But now, as Jaxen Grey continues to expand, the store has a new space of its own at a prominent North Loop intersection: 3rd and Washington.
“We’re really excited,” said Druskin. “It’s nice to have our own space. We had a great opportunity to get started in the incubator in the collective space but we’re excited to break out on our own.”
The new store is designed to feel more open and spacious than the previous location.
“I think it’s a lot easier to shop,” Druskin said. “Things are a lot more visible so I think as a shopper, it’s going to be a great experience for our customers.”
Besides the move to a new space, Druskin has also tweaked the spelling of the store’s name, from Jaxon Grey to… Jaxen Grey. It’s because of other stores around the country that use some form of the name Jaxon–with an X–in their name. With plans to start opening stores in other parts of the country, Druskin wanted to make the change now to avoid future confusion.
He’s also planning to launch an e-commerce site in September.
The shop at 3rd and Washington was formerly occupied by Love Your Melon, which only occasionally opened to the public. It was more of a studio and special event space.
“We’re excited to activate this corner, such an amazing corner in the neighborhood,” said Druskin.
Complimentary parking is still available for Jaxen Grey shoppers in the D.NOLO parking lot next to Monte Carlo.
