In the latest indication of the North Loop’s strength and appeal to large employers, J.P. Morgan has moved its local headquarters into the Steelman Exchange building at 241 North 5th Avenue.

It joins Piper Sandler, KPMG and Värde Partners on the list of financial services companies that have recently made the move to our neighborhood.

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal interviewed Pilar Oppedisano, who oversees private banking for J.P. Morgan Chase in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota.

In the article, Oppedisano is quoted as saying, “It is a vote of confidence for the teams that we have here locally on the ground that we can capitalize on the opportunity and capitalize on the growth, and we will continue to grow,” she said. “We’re not going to invest in places we don’t have confidence in.”

The new sign for J.P. Morgan went up on the building in the past few weeks as the company was making the move.
