New Cafe Will Include Grocery Section And Soft Serve
As construction continues on the new North Loop Parcelle on North 1st Street, we’re learning that about half of the space is being set aside for something neighborhood residents have been clamoring for: more grocery options!
And Parcelle’s owner is asking for feedback on what should be on the shelves.
In an Instagram post shared by The Development Tracker, Kamal Mohamed said he wants the items to be organic and clean, at roughly the same price you’d pay at a premium grocery store. He mentioned “pasture-raised eggs, honey and olive oil” among the expected options, and said he intends to support “emerging brands that you sometimes don’t find.”
Parcelle is an organics-focused cafe best known for its smoothies, wraps and bowls. The new North Loop location will be the first to have a grocery section.
It will also have soft-serve options that “will be Greek yogurt-based,” said Mohamed. “So a little bit higher on the protein but still hit home.”
He didn’t give an opening date but indicated that the most difficult part of the construction–plumbing and electrical–is now complete. “We’re on the other side of it,” he said, “so things are gonna move a lot faster.”
In an Instagram message, the company said, “We’re hoping for mid October at this point with permitting, final equipment install, etc.”
