New Christmas Tree Lot Will Come With Decorating Tips

Starting Black Friday, November 24th, David Kisan will be transforming North Loop Galley’s patio into a cozy little Christmas tree lot and personally leading live tutorials on decorating trends.

“Similar to something you would see on the Hallmark Channel around the holidays, you know, those cute little outdoor festivals,” Kisan said. “You’re going to see seasonal trends of what florists are thinking about when they’re procuring Christmas trees.”

Kisan, a master florist and owner of Sip ‘N Bloom, ordinarily leads DIY workshops on floral arranging while his “students” sip wine and beer. But he came up with this new Festival of the Trees event as a charitable benefit. All the proceeds from the tree sales ($65-210) will go to Children’s Hospital.

“It’s a good cause and I just believe in giving as much as we can to Children’s Research and Children’s Hospital overall,” he said.

He hopes to make this an annual event and is starting relatively small, with only about 50 trees this year.

“We’ll have to see how it goes but I think it could be really cool,” Kisan said. “I know when I first moved here, we wanted a live Christmas tree and it was kind of hard to find one in this neighborhood. Also, we didn’t have a car so being able to walk places was very important to us.”

More details about this new event are available on the Sip ‘N Bloom website.
