New Fitness Option Opening In July

The North Loop will get a new high-energy fitness option in July with the opening of Barry’s in the Loose-Wiles building at 7th and Washington.

In an email exchange with Adam Shane, Chief Development Officer, he described the Barry’s experience as “a high intensity interval training workout that combines strength and cardio training in a nightclub atmosphere.”

“The Red Room is unique in that it mimics a nightclub,” Shane said, “making working out an enjoyable and social experience. The alluring red lights, loud music and palpable energy is unparalleled and is key to the overall experience.”

Barry’s has fitness studios throughout the U.S. as well as several other countries, but this will be the company’s first in Minnesota.

“We chose the North Loop for a number of reasons,” Shane said, “the most notable being that it is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic neighborhoods in Minneapolis. It’s a prime location; close to hundreds of like minded local businesses.”

While working with the historic architecture of the Loose-Wiles building, the company will also have some modern “Instagrammable features” like neon fixtures and wall murals that are specific to Minneapolis.

When it opens next month, the studio will offer membership options ranging from 8-30 classes per month, while also selling single classes or class packages. The exact opening date hasn’t been set yet, but the company intends to announce it soon on its social media accounts.
