New Map Guides Us To Nature

At a time when we need and appreciate fresh air and nature more than ever, a new map in the Tower Tunnel is helping guide passersby to the woods and trails along the Mississippi River.

Artist Ron Ridgeway designed and installed the map, which reads, “Nature is just minutes away. Make the connection. It’s in our nature.”

Ridgeway also designed the large Art Crossing piece there, and has visions of turning the tunnel into an art corridor, with more works of his own as well as other artists. The project is funded by a local non-profit, Neighbors for North Loop Livability, and supported by the North Loop Neighborhood Association.

The tunnel, at the base of Tower Lofts, helps pedestrians get from Washington Avenue to 2nd Street.
