Stay in the Loop

New Restaurant Will Offer Free Food At Grand Opening

To introduce their plant-based burgers and other foods to the North Loop later this month, Stalk & Spade will be handing out free samples at their grand opening.

Burgers, “chick’n” sandwiches, nuggets and salads will all be given away on September 23rd from 10:30am-1pm.

“We are passionate about the product we are bringing to the North Loop neighborhood,” said Kelly Backes, co-owner of this franchise along with her husband, long-time NHL player David Backes. “We couldn’t be more excited to make plant-based eating more accessible to the North Loop neighborhood and community,” Kelly said.

They opened another Stalk & Spade location in Edina earlier this year, and their opening day food giveaway drew long lines.

Their menu will also feature wraps, dairy-free frozen treats and kids’ meals.

The restaurant, on the ground level of the new Duffey project on Washington Avenue near 6th Avenue, will be open 7 days a week from 10:30am-9pm.

After their Friday grand opening, they’ll hold two other special events that weekend– a dog adoption event with Safe Hands Rescue on Saturday the 24th from 11am-1pm and an Ice Cream Social on Sunday the 25th from 11-1, with one free cup or cone to those who attend.
