Stay in the Loop

No Fooling: New Home Boutique Opening Here On April 1st

After construction delays pushed her opening back by about six months, Rachel Cafferty is embracing the idea of debuting her new shop, Story & Teller, on April 1st.

“I actually loved the messaging of ‘no fooling around,’ we’re opening April 1st,” she said. “Obviously this last little bit of winter is throwing us a curveball but come in, cozy up, come check things out.”

She describes Story & Teller as an artisan home and lifestyle boutique. “Everything in our space was hand-selected for not only its beauty but its backstory,” she said, “and that’s really where the name ties in: Story & Teller. I really want to help create that connection between the makers and the customers. Everything you find in our store was made by an individual and you can really see the character in addition to the beauty of everything here.”

She has everything from decorative items for the living room and bedroom, to functional items for the kitchen and bath.

“If you’re someone who really enjoys design and loves filling your space with thoughtfully-made goods, I think you’ll really enjoy perusing what we have in store, she said.”

As someone who moved to the North Loop after graduating from college, she wanted her first brick-and-mortar location to be in this neighborhood.

“It feels so dynamic and there’s such great activity going on,” she said. “And then truly, there’s so many wonderful and inspiring local businesses. I feel really honored to get to be neighbors with so many shops and restaurants that I’ve admired for years.”

Story & Teller is on the street level of the new Intersect apartment building behind lululemon at 316 North 2nd Street.

The official grand opening festivities will be Saturday, April 13th and Sunday, the 14th, with free coffee from the Hola Coffee cart as well as macaroons from The Fox & Pantry.
