Stay in the Loop

North Loop Coffee Shop Wants Your Dog

The owner of In The Loop Coffee can’t have a dog of her own, because of her husband’s allergies. But in reality, Marisa Thom has dozens of dogs that she loves and cares for.

They’re the ones that come in to her shop every day from the North Loop and beyond. While their humans may be stopping for coffee, pastries or sandwiches, the dogs will be offered free homemade treats and water. Frozen cups of “puppuccino” are also on the menu board.

Next Saturday, August 24th, Thom will be bringing in a photographer for the annual Pups on the Patio event, a chance to get more pet portraits on her coffee shop’s wall.

There are currently 74 dogs featured in framed photos around the shop. She plans to keep adding on until she runs out of wall space.

Saturday’s event goes from 1-3 pm and there’s no charge to have your pet’s photo taken. If you’d like to purchase a copy for your own use, though, that option will be available.
