North Loop Red Cow About To Undergo Big Remodel

After ten years on 1st Avenue in the North Loop, Red Cow realized it’s time for a new vibe–and they’ve brought in senior interior designers at MartinPatrick3, to make it happen.

The restaurant will close starting September 2nd and reopen about five weeks later with a decidedly different look on the inside. Instead of the deep reds and dark woods, the colors will be much lighter and brighter and the restaurant will have a different floor plan.

“As a company, we’re always looking to evolve and innovate, we celebrated 10 years in this location in February and it’s time for a refresh,” said Luke Shimp, owner of Red Cow and Red Rabbit restaurants. “Our recent menu enhancements were the first phase of our continued growth – refreshing the interiors is an important next step.”

The company’s news release detailed how a mix of textures and patterns will help soften and elevate the experience while keeping things approachable.

“The neighborhood has changed over the last ten years, and we wanted to help Luke and team continue to raise the bar and change with it,” said Greg Walsh, co-owner of MartinPatrick3. “Through a collaborative effort with Luke, we’ve developed a more sophisticated aesthetic for the restaurant that will better match the neighborhood.”

Along with lighter colors and a new configuration, the restaurant will have a new wine cellar near the center and a new space that can be partitioned off for private gatherings.
