North Loop Storefronts Being Transformed For 2026 Openings

For those wondering “what’s going on with that building?,” we have a little insight on four businesses planning North Loop openings in the coming months.

PopUp Bagels 107 Third Ave N

The popular bagel chain based in New York is hoping to enter the Twin Cities market with up to ten locations in the next couple of years, and the Minnesota entrepreneur who’s planning to bring it here wants the first one to be on 3rd Avenue in North Loop between Solidcore and Bellecour.

Dan D’Aquisto is currently in the approval process with the city, and told the North Loop Planning & Zoning Committee that if all goes well, PopUp Bagels could be open here by late September or early October.

“It’s taking off, a viral brand nationally, fits in well with a lot of the other existing concepts,” he said. “It will bring a nice exciting sort of energy, kind of New York City feel to the best neighborhood in Minneapolis as our flagship location.”

The company built a sizable following on social media with its “grip, rip and dip” concept. The bagels aren’t sliced, toasted or made into sandwiches; they’re designed to be ripped apart and dipped into cups of cream cheese and other spreads.

D’Aquisto said one of his biggest local supporters is chef Gavin Kaysen, who owns Bellecour, Demi and Spoon and Stable restaurants nearby. “He brought his kids every weekend to PopUp (while in New York) and he’s very excited about it” being here.

Ellena Aesthetics 211 Third Ave N

Also on Third Avenue, the former D.NOLO space is being converted into a new clinic for Ellena Aesthetics, which will be moving here from the St. Anthony Main area of Northeast Minneapolis.

“Minneapolis has always been home to us. While we’re sad to leave the St. Anthony Main neighborhood that has supported us for so many years, we’re excited for this next chapter in North Loop,” said Devon Ellena, APRN, NP-C, Co-Owner & Medical Director. “This move allows us to create a more comfortable and accessible experience for our patients while giving our team the space needed to continue growing.”

“At Clinic Ellena, we’re proud to provide aesthetic, regenerative, and wellness-focused care for both women and men. From skin health and injectables to hormone optimization, wellness services, prenatal ultrasound experiences, and regenerative medicine, our goal is to help patients feel confident, healthy, and supported throughout every stage of life.”

Ellena is hoping to open here in August.

The NOW Minneapolis

A new massage boutique has just begun construction in the same building as The Ten Spot and Red Cow on North 2nd Street (the former Queen Anna space).

The NOW hopes to open in August as well, offering three signature massage styles and custom enhancements such as Deep Tissue, Gliding Cupping, and Crystal Hot Stones.

“We are so excited to be joining the North Loop community later this summer,” said local owner Luise Belisle. “The NOW is designed as an oasis with a goal to offer high quality, affordable massage in an LA-inspired setting without the time commitment and cost of a traditional spa (monthly membership for a 50-minute massage is $90). We can’t wait to open our doors to the community!”

Flower Bar 728 N Third St

Luxury floral boutique Flower Bar is opening a second Twin Cities location this summer on the ground floor of the Sable building on Third Street.

The shop is best known for its DIY floral design workshops where clients create their own custom floral arrangements from a selection of fresh, seasonal blooms with guidance from an instructor. Flower Bar also has floral delivery as well as wedding and special event services.

The North Loop shop will feature something new that the original location at 2736 Lyndale Ave S doesn’t — a gelato bar.
