Stay in the Loop

Parts Of West River Parkway To Close Again

With warmer weather bringing bigger crowds to the walking paths, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has decided again to block some vehicle traffic on West River Parkway so pedestrians and cyclists can have more room to spread out during the pandemic.

By Monday, April 12th, barricades will block drivers from using the northbound lane between the Stone Arch Bridge and 4th Avenue in the North Loop. The southbound lane heading toward the Stone Arch Bridge will remain open to vehicle traffic until May 3rd. And then signs indicate it will also be closed for two weeks.

The barricades on the northbound side are scheduled to stay up through the end of May.
