Mississippi River Paddle Share is a new and exciting recreational and transportation opportunity for people who have some kayaking experience, don’t own a boat, and want a safe and enjoyable river experience. This is a first of its kind in a national park and in the country.

Go kayaking on the Mississippi River in Minneapolis! Mississippi River Paddle Share is a first-of-its-kind kayak sharing system offering a unique experience in an urban national park. Paddle Share provides you with everything you need to get out on the water in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.
Here’s how it works:
1. Reserve a kayak at paddleshare.org *
2. Check out your boat and equipment
3. Launch and enjoy!
4. Return your equipment to Boom Island Park

Paddle Share reservations are available Friday to Monday at 7 am, 12 pm and 5 pm. Your $25 rental fee gives you three hours on the Mississippi River in a solo kayak (or $40 for tandems), offering plenty of time to stop for a snack, check out a heron rookery, and take in the sights!
All Paddle Share stations are aligned with Nice Ride bike share stations, allowing you to bike back to where you started.
