Stay in the Loop

Park Gets New Plants, More Volunteers Needed

Have you noticed the nice new trees, flowers, grasses and shrubs around the playground at James I Rice Park? Some kind volunteers came together to plant them on May 21st. And they could use more help on June 12th to spread mulch!

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board donated the 120 plants and 5 trees for the park, and provided planting tools as well.

They’ll deliver mulch to the North Loop by June 12th which volunteers will spread not only around the park beds but also around the trees that were newly-planted last spring along 3rd and 4th Street.  It’s part of our monthly Service Saturday event.

If you’d like to help, show up at the park (West River Parkway and 4th Avenue North) around 10 am. Tools and gloves will be provided.
