Prescription Delivery Service Arrives In North Loop
An innovative pharmacy that launched 5 years ago in New York with free same-day delivery just opened its first location outside of the New York area—in the North Loop of Minneapolis.
Capsule originally planned to open its new location here in June, but because of the increased demand for delivery services during the COVID-19 outbreak, the company accelerated the opening. Its storefront is on Washington Avenue, two doors down from Warby Parker.
Capsule’s business concept was designed around the fact that long waits to pick up prescriptions at traditional pharmacies are inconvenient and potentially risky as you sit next to others in the waiting area. It offers online ordering and no-contact delivery. And unlike most mail-order pharmacies, the prescriptions arrive on the same day you order.
Capsule will deliver to anyone within the 494/694 loop, and most clients will deal with them entirely online or by phone. But the company wanted to also have a physical presence so that clients could have the option of pickup as well.
The company chose the North Loop because of its high visibility in the metro. While a temporary sign is now in the front window, the company is working with architects to finish remodeling the space in the coming weeks.
