Restaurant Inside Hewing Selling Grill Kits To Go
While it’s not yet ready to welcome diners inside again, Tullibee Restaurant is now offering take-out grill kits for two, with pre-orders starting today.
Known for its aged steaks and meat boards, Tullibee will be packaging steaks that have been aged anywhere from 30 days to four months, along with lamb, sausage and other specialties. Buyers will get a link to an instructional video by executive chef Nyle Flynn, with information on the proper grilling temperature, slicing and plating. “And you can bring it anywhere, whether you’re camping on the North Shore or on your patio in the North Loop,” Flynn said.
He hopes the kits will add a special touch, with all the grilling and open-fire cooking taking place leading up to Labor Day and beyond.
Ten dollars of every kit will be donated to Loaves and Fishes, serving lower-income communities. And for each kit sold, the buyer’s name will go into a raffle with the chance to win an overnight stay at the Hewing.
Pre-orders are being taken between August 19th-26th, with the first pickup on Friday, August 28th in the hotel’s lobby. Flynn said the kit sales will continue for the foreseeable future.
“Every week we’ll be changing it and trying to keep the business going to our farmers, keep our butcher room busy and keep the guys busy here,” he said.
The Hewing’s rooftop is also now offering limited dinner service Tuesdays-Saturdays from 5-11pm.
