It’s A Tie! With Six Board Seats Decided, We’ll Need A Tie-Breaker for the Seventh

Before a standing room crowd that spread into the balcony of the Muse Event Center Wednesday night, North Loop residents and businesspeople listened to pitches from a record number of nominees vying to be on the North Loop Neighborhood Association board.

Even though it’s a two-year position that requires a lot of work for no pay, 20 people had their names on the ballot and yet another person stepped forward at the meeting to put his name in the running as well.

In the end, all four incumbents on the ballot, Tim Bildsoe, Diane Merrifield, Scott Woller and Francesco Parisi were re-elected. Two newcomers, Jackson Schwartz and Ron Sliwinski will be joining the NLNA board as well. Tim Bildsoe hopes to settle the tie-breaker for the seventh seat between Pedro Wolcott and Jenn Brewington by the end of the week.

Four other board members, Mike Binkley, David Crary, Bri Sharkey-Smith and Dana Swindler are finishing the first year of their two-year terms.

North Loop businesses showed their support for the board by donating more than $2,500 in gift cards and other goods for door prizes at the meeting.
