Stay in the Loop

After The Loop Says ‘So Long,’ We’ll Say ‘Howdy’ To A Country Bar

We’re just getting used to the fact that one of the “OGs” of the North Loop entertainment scene, The Loop, is closing after 20 years. Its final day of business will be November 29th.

But now we’re learning, the space at 606 North Washington won’t be empty for long. By late spring of 2027, it should be ready to reopen as a Nashville-style bar/restaurant with southern food and live country music three nights a week.

“We’ve been talking about doing something like this,” said Behn Taheri, one of the business partners behind the new concept. “We’ve been looking for a location to do something in the country genre, and that location seemed to be perfect for it.”

Taheri and his partners are already established in the neighborhood; they’ve run the Ava disco lounge on 3rd Avenue for more than two years.

“We’re very excited about it,” Taheri said. “What I would say is, we would like to be kind of a neighborhood bar with live music, some good food and just another good addition to the North Loop.” He said the new venture is inspired by the rows of bars and music venues in Nashville’s popular Lower Broadway district, aka Honky Tonk Highway.

Many of the details – including the bar’s name – are yet to be determined. In fact, Taheri said they weren’t planning to announce anything just yet, but “word got out,” and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal just published an article about it.

He says with about four or five months of interior demo and construction, he hopes to be open by late spring or early summer next year.
