Thank you for your interest in supporting your neighborhood!
North Loop residents, property owners, business owners and business representatives are eligible to serve on the NLNA Board of Directors. Board members are elected to two-year terms at our annual meeting. The 2024 meeting will be held live at the Steelman Exchange building (241 N 5th Avenue), and via Zoom, on Wednesday, January 31st, with happy hour beginning at 5:30pm and the annual business meeting at 7:00pm. As the NLNA board is composed entirely of volunteers, board members are expected to make a significant time commitment (15-20 hours monthly), to be actively engaged in their committee assignments and to be a visible presence at neighborhood events.
Monthly board meetings are held at 6-8pm on the last Wednesday of the month. No more than two missed meetings annually are permitted.
Please complete the form below to submit your name as a nominee. Nominations will be accepted through January 13th. We will contact you when we receive your letter to explore your interests and tell you more about what all we do, and what we expect from board members.
We will also ask you to record a video (60 seconds maximum) to introduce yourself and express why you’d like to serve on the board.
The City of Minneapolis helps support a network of 70 neighborhood organizations like ours to involve neighbors in local decision-making and connect with residents and businesses through a wide range of community-building initiatives. We are all volunteers, working to keep our neighborhood strong and vibrant.
Whether it’s bringing people together for fun events like the Food Truck Fair, posting on our social media pages, organizing cleanup efforts, doing historical research, maintaining our website, advocating for public art and green spaces, or connecting with City leaders about safety issues, the North Loop Neighborhood Association board members put in the hours needed to make sure the North Loop’s positive momentum continues.
We are a group that rolls up our sleeves to get things done and we are so thankful for the neighbors and business leaders who join us in our volunteer efforts.
Thank you for your interest in joining the NLNA board!
