How You Can Help Strengthen The Neighborhood
One of the best things about the North Loop neighborhood is the sense of pride and commitment our residents feel. You’ve asked how you can chip in to keep this a great community, and we’ve set up Service Saturdays to offer you some options. Here’s the line-up for September 12th:
9:00 AM – Litter pickup Meet at Corner Coffee, 514 N 3rd Street. We’ll hit the streets to pick up some of the litter that didn’t find its way into the trash cans. We’ll supply bags and gloves.
9:30 AM – 3:30 PM Blood Drive Memorial Blood Centers’ Bloodmobile will be Number 12 Cider, 614 N 5th St, collecting badly-needed donations of blood. Please choose your time slot and sign up in advance.
10:00 AM – Park cleanup Meet at the playground at James I Rice Park, West River Parkway and 4th Ave N, for a variety of landscaping options, from spreading mulch in the planting beds to clearing more of the overgrowth along the river. Tools and gloves provided.
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Voter Information Center at Number 12 Cider, 614 N 5th St. Learn how to apply for an absentee ballot, be an election judge, register to vote, find your polling places plus other voting information in this key election year.
1:00 – 3:00 PM – NLNA Voter Happy Hour and Candidate Meet And Greet Speak with some of the candidates who will be on your ballot and join us for an early happy hour at Number 12 Cider, 614 N 5th St. Among those who’ve agreed to be there are candidates for State Senate (Bobby Joe Champion – DFL), State Representative (Esther Agbaje – DFL, Lisa Neal-Delgado – Green, Alan Shilepsky – GOP), School Board District 2 (Sharon El-Amin, KerryJo Felder) and School Board At-Large (Michael Dueñes). Please check back later as more confirmations come in and we update this list.
