Stay in the Loop

Former One Fermentary Will Soon Become A Brewpub With BBQ

With its enviable location just down the block from Target Field, you knew the old ONE Fermentary space wouldn’t stay empty for long. And now we’re learning who’s moving in.

The space has been sold to the owner of Black Sheep Pizza, Jordan Smith, and will be reborn in April as StormKing Brewpub and BBQ. The project manager, Clare Regan, sent this email today:

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of StormKing Brewpub and Barbecue! The team behind Black Sheep Coal Fired Pizza has partnered with Rapids Brewing Company from Grand Rapids, Minnesota to combine fantastic barbecue with some of the best beer being brewed in Minnesota. Opening just blocks from our original Black Sheep Pizza in the North Loop, we’re excited to bring something new to the neighborhood we know and love.

Licensing and permits are under way, and we plan to open our doors to the public in April 2021. We look forward to the years to come in the North Loop!

Jordan Smith did an interview with Stephanie March of Minneapolis St. Paul magazine, saying the brewpub will feature Texas-inspired barbecue brisket, ribs and pulled pork as well as sandwiches and nachos. You can read that article here.
