Stay in the Loop

Here’s the August Lineup For Service Saturday

Building on the popularity of our first Service Saturday in July, the North Loop Neighborhood Association is again offering four different opportunities to serve and strengthen the neighborhood on Saturday, August 8th.

We invite anyone who’d like to help, to show up at any of these locations and we’ll provide any tools and materials necessary.

9AM – Litter Pickup: We’ll pass out bags and gloves outside Corner Coffee (514 N 3rd St) then hit the streets together to clear away the litter.

10AM – Park Improvements: We’ll meet near the playground at James I Rice Park (4th Ave N and West River Parkway) and start improving the landscaping around the play area, as well as clear more invasive vines and overgrowth that are choking off the views of the river. Tools provided.

11AM – Welcome Park Landscaping: The garden shrubs at our Welcome Park (3rd Ave N & Washington) could use some attention. We’ll meet near the North Loop landmark to pull weeds, etc.

1-3PM – School Supplies Donation Drive: We’ll have a donation site at James I Rice Park (4th Av N & West River Parkway) to collect school supplies for kids in Minneapolis schools who could use our help. We’re told there’s an especially big need for headphones to help children with their schoolwork.

9AM-3PM – Voter Registration: We’ll have volunteers at James I Rice Park (4th Av N & West River Parkway) helping people register to vote.
