Stay in the Loop

Love Is Blind Contestant Will Be Familiar To Many Here

It’s been about a year since one of the most popular reality shows on Netflix, Love Is Blind, brought its cameras to Minneapolis in hopes of helping local singles find love on TV.

And now, as the first few episodes are released February 14th, many in the North Loop will recognize at least one of the contestants, Adam Bevis (bottom right in the photo above).

He’s been a familiar face selling men’s clothing at Jaxen Grey’s North Loop shop–and sometimes modeling on its social media accounts. He also has an ownership stake in the company.

On the show, singles hope to fall in love with someone they’ve never seen. On their “dates,” they’re in isolated rooms where they can’t see the other person’s face; they only hear their voice. It’s only after they decide to get married that they finally see each other, go on an exotic vacation together, then move into a Minneapolis high-rise (reportedly 365 Nicollet) and go on dates around town.

The anticipation is so high for the show’s debut, Graze Food Hall is hosting a Love Is Blind Watch Party and Galentine’s Market on Saturday, the 15th from noon to 4.

“I think it’s really unique that it was filmed in Minneapolis so we want to provide a place for people to come celebrate that and watch it,” said Molly Herrmann, Director of Operations for Graze. “But we’re turning it into more of a Galentine’s event.”

The first 50 guests will get a free cocktail in a golden goblet from Basil Hayden, plus North Loop-based Sip N’ Bloom will be there helping people design their own floral bouquets, Linc will have permanent jewelry and Hat Trix Chicks will be customizing trucker hats for guests.

Meanwhile, more than 4,000 people have already joined a Facebook group, Love Is Blind Minneapolis Updates, which includes speculation and discussion over some of the sites the contestants visited.
