More Retail + Apartments Coming To 2nd Street

It’s been nearly a year since Industrial Lighting ended its 60-year run at the corner of 2nd Street and 2nd Avenue in the North Loop. And ever since, plans have been in the works to convert the historic building into a retail and residential facility.
Those plans are now public and detailed in this article from the Development Tracker.
The developer is working to get approval from city planners to once again have windows on the ground level. The original windows were covered up by brick, decades ago.
When complete in mid-2023, the building will have about a dozen residences along with space for retail establishments.
