Stay in the Loop

Brasserie Going Into Ribnick Space Now Has A Name

Chef David Fhima and his family just announced that their new North Loop restaurant will be named Maison Margaux, a “modern take on a Parisian brasserie,” which will also feature “the coolest underground bar in the world” and an all-American Ralph Lauren-inspired event center.

Margaux is French for “pearl” and Fhima said that’s exactly what they found, a pearl, when they were able to purchase the historic Ribnick building at 1st Street North and 3rd Avenue North late last year.

“We are a winter away from opening,” Fhima said in a news release. “We have promised our community and city that we will do this differently, emphasizing our family roots, honoring the historic ground, and partnering with our amazing and culturally diverse BIPOC community.”
