Stay in the Loop

New North Loop Hotel Opening This Week

The North Loop will get more than 150 new hotel rooms on Wednesday with the opening of the Element by Westin.

The new eight-story hotel is in a prime location, next to Target Field and the light rail line—not to mention one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city. “Everybody wants to be at the latest and greatest,” said Sarah Traczyk, director of sales, “and that’s the North Loop of Minneapolis right now.”

It’s in the same building as the Fillmore Music Hall which will open in mid-February with three sold-out shows from Brandi Carlile. Traczyk said the hotel was built with sound abatement features that keep the noise at the music hall from being heard in the hotel rooms.

More than half the Element’s rooms have full kitchens, including stovetops, refrigerators and microwaves. The largest rooms, known as Studio Commons suites, feature three adjacent bedrooms that share a large common area with lots of seating and a sofa sleeper.

All the rooms have the Westin’s signature Heavenly beds.

By springtime, a fourth floor rooftop deck will have a fire pit, landscaping, patio furniture and two grills for guests to enjoy.
