Off-Leash Park Will Not Close
To make sure that dogs in the North Loop will still have a place to burn off energy and romp around with their friends, we’re happy to announce that volunteers with the North Loop Neighborhood Association are taking over the management and upkeep of the off-leash dog park on North 8th Avenue at 3rd Street, behind Bunkers.
Late last year, we learned that after many years of generously keeping the North Loop park going, volunteers at the non-profit Dog Grounds could no longer do it, and so we agreed to add this to our neighborhood projects.
We plan to make some improvements this year but we, too, are a non-profit with limited resources, so we will certainly welcome help from the community.
We also want to express our appreciation to Schafer Richardson, which owns the land and allows our dogs to use it.
