Stay in the Loop

New Restaurant Will Have Unique Outdoor Space

When it opens in the coming weeks along Washington Avenue, Guacaya Bistreaux will not only bring flavor combos that have been hard to find in this part of the city, but also a unique outdoor experience.

Work is underway now on the area in front of the restaurant which owner Pedro Wolcott says will not be your typical patio. “It’s more of a lanai,” he said. “Lots of plants, and it will have music and chandeliers to set the vibe.”

Guacaya Bistreaux will offer Latin and Caribbean-inspired tapas and cocktails with a focus on authenticity and affordability.

Wolcott, who lives with his family in the North Loop, said he’s determined to provide an experience that people won’t find elsewhere in the city. He has not yet announced an official opening date.
