North Loop Giving Away Bags
Since the start of the year, shoppers in Minneapolis have been paying an extra nickel for every carryout bag they take away from most retailers.
City leaders said their goals for this new ordinance included reducing waste and encouraging people to take reusable bags to the stores.
Well now, you can get a reusable bag that not only has the awesome North Loop logo on it, it’s also made from 80% post-consumer waste.
But you can’t buy it. The North Loop Neighborhood Association is giving away the bags to the first 300 people who attend the Annual Meeting and happy hour starting at 6:00 pm on January 29th at the Muse Event Center.
Besides the free bags, several North Loop merchants have stepped up to offer gift cards as door prizes, ranging from $15 to $200+. And the happy hour will feature free food and drinks.
North Loop residents and business representatives get to elect new members to the North Loop Neighborhood Association board at the Annual Meeting, while also setting goals for the year ahead and celebrating the goals we achieved in the past year.
