Stay in the Loop

Prince Mural To Be Featured In Tourism Campaign

Sometime next fall, Explore Minnesota will start running ads encouraging people to visit the Twin Cities in the winter. And among the attractions they’ll feature: the Prince mural that went up on the side of Floyd’s 99 barber shop in the North Loop last fall.

A production crew shot the mural scene this morning. In it, two young women try to fit the whole mural in a selfie but then a young man comes along to take the picture for them.

The Prince mural, created by artist Jonas Never of Los Angeles, has quickly become a popular North Loop landmark. We captured drone footage of Never putting the finishing touches on the mural last October.

The Explore Minnesota team is also shooting city scenes at various locations around the metro including First Avenue, Orchestra Hall and Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis.
