Stay in the Loop

Puttshack Opens North Loop Location

Miniature golf meets technology in the North Loop’s newest entertainment option, as Puttshack officially opened today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Puttshack is just a fun place to get together with your friends, family and have an amazing time,” said Troy Turner, Assistant Director of Operations. “We offer tech-infused golf, which is a different spin on the game that makes it a little bit more dynamic and fun.”

Puttshack has three nine-hole miniature golf courses, with Trackaball(™) technology that keeps track of who is playing. “It’s our system that understands who is playing the game, keeps track of strokes and makes it easier to play than holding a pencil and paper,” explained Turner. “You can walk, talk and play while having a drink in your hand, having a good time.”

The North Loop also includes The Challenge Hole Suite Experience, where you can “dine, drink and play all in the same place,” said Turner. The two Challenge Hole suites include seating and unique mini-golf games in a semi-private space, and are suited for groups and parties of up to 70 people.

There’s a full menu with more than 100 items, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free selections. The cocktail menu includes some Instagram-ready drinks, including one called The Breaking Bad, after the popular TV show. Beer selections from North Loop’s Fulton Brewing, Inbound BrewCo, Modist Brewing and nearby Pryes Brewing Company are also on the bar menu.

Puttshack offered menu samples at their media preview event as part of their grand opening celebration.

Fans of the TV show “Breaking Bad” will enjoy the chemistry of the smoky presentation for this cocktail named for the show.

Charity Partnership

Ordering the “Tailpipe” will go to a good cause. The appetizer is a deep-fried spring roll with a chicken wild rice soup-inspired filling, and a dollar of every purchase goes to HopeKids, a charity that supports children with cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

One dollar from every purchase of the tailpipe appetizer benefits HopeKids, which helps families with children who are living with cancer or other life-threatening conditions.

HopeKids hosts fun events for families with children who have cancer or other life-threatening conditions. “A lot of our kids and families go through a schedule of appointments and doctor visits and surgeries and things that aren’t all that fun,” said Brian Anderson, HopeKids’s Minnesota Chapter Executive Director. “So to give them something to look forward to is our mission.” Anderson added that HopeKids organizes about 475 events a year, and serves 1,700 families in Minnesota.

“Competitive Socializing”

Mayor Jacob Frey attended today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, and observed that North Loop has several entertainment options for socializing while playing games. “What we’re looking at is a new form of entertainment that has really galvanized North Loop in a really big way. You can use technology to play a game in a different way,” said Frey. “I’m glad that we took this space that was largely vacant before, and now we’ve got activity and life and color and light all packed in on this intersection.”

Puttshack management said North Loop was the ideal fit for them. “It is the place to be. We’re super excited for all the walkability of the apartment buildings, as well as all the office buildings for happy hour, holiday parties, all that good stuff,” said Jordan Poock, Senior Sales Manager.

Puttshack is located at 700 N. 3rd St. and is now open for business every day of the week: Monday-Thursday 11am to 11pm, Friday and Saturdays from 11am to 1am, and Sundays from 10am to 10pm.
