Report: Barcelona Wine Bar Coming To Washington Avenue
The historic brick building next to Duffey Lofts/Backstory Coffee at 508 Washington Avenue North will be transformed into a tapas restaurant and wine bar, according to the Development Tracker website.
Barcelona Wine Bar is a national chain with 22 other locations, primarily in the south and northeast. On its website, the company says, “As one of the largest Spanish wine programs in the United States, we offer an extensive selection from Spain and South America. We serve 40 wines by the glass and approximately 500 by the bottle, spanning more than 100 regions.”
As for the food, “We pride ourselves in preparing tapas both simple and elegant using the finest seasonal picks from local markets and unusual specialties from Spain and the Mediterranean. The flavors are bold and the ingredients speak for themselves,” according to the website.
The Development Tracker reports that the company is now in the hiring process for several positions as it aims to open this summer.
