Stay in the Loop

Survey: What Do You Think Of Proposed Bus Route Changes?

Metro Transit is looking to make changes to a major bus route between the two downtowns, and is looking for input from the public. Route 3 does not currently include the North Loop, but it would under this new plan, set to take effect in late summer of this year.

Currently, the route runs along 3rd St. & 4th St. just South of Washington Avenue in downtown Minneapolis and stopping short of the North Loop. To better serve the North Loop and East Town and to make the route more intuitive, the proposed improvements would move Route 3 to Washington Avenue and extend it further into the North Loop. View a map of the proposed changes here.

Other proposed improvements include:

  • Speeding up the route by:

o   Consolidating some bus stops

o   Relocating stops past signaled intersections

  • Installing new shelters
  • Installing concrete pads to improve accessibility

For a full summary of the proposed changes, check out the project website or view this video summary.

Metro Transit is seeking public input via an online survey that is open until March 12.
