Stay in the Loop

Thanksgiving Options In The North Loop

We’re basically on our own this Thanksgiving, with health officials urging us to stay away from large family gatherings. Luckily, several North Loop restaurants are offering turkey and other holiday staples to go. (And isn’t it nice to support our restaurants in 2020?) Here’s what we’ve spotted from social media posts.

Whether you’ll be eating by yourself or sharing with others, The Freehouse has turkey dinners to go, ranging from individual portions to family size. And the offer doesn’t end on Thanksgiving Day. These meals, with mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, vegetables and gravy, will be available for take-out through Sunday, the 29th.

Hewing pies

Hewing Hotel sold out of its three-course Thanksgiving dinner to go with Charcuterie board, kale salad, a savory smoked confit turkey leg, roasted breast gravy, whipped pomme purée, roasted Brussels sprouts, Parker House rolls, cranberry sauce, chestnut stuffing and pumpkin pie.  They were also selling pies to go (pumpkin, caramel apple or salted maple) and those sold out as well.

Soul Bowl is not only taking orders for big takeout meals, they’re also collecting $60 donations to buy a Thanksgiving Box to feed others in need.

Bellecour Bakery

Bellecour Bakery is taking advance orders for pastries and other delicacies to go — everything from pumpkin spice Chantilly crepe cake, croissants and roasted squash soup to molasses marshmallow cookies.

Spoon and Stable and Chef Gavin Kaysen sold all of their pre-sale slots for their Thanksgiving meal but will be posting more holiday meal opportunities for December on their website soon.

Red Cow and Red Rabbit are taking orders for take-out Thanksgiving meals feeding 4-6 people but you’ll need to pick it up the day before at Red Cow’s Uptown location.

For those who can do without turkey, Wrecktangle Pizza is offering “Thanksgiving pre-orders” of take-and-bake pizzas.

Billy Sushi is offering “Friendsgiving Sushi Platters” on its website.

Please let us know (info@northloop.org) if we’ve missed any other North Loop restaurants offering Thanksgiving specials!
