Notice of Public Hearing – 419 Washington Avenue North

Internet Exchange Building Addition

Sheldon Berg with DJR Architecture, on behalf of North Loop Partners, LLC, has applied for a Certificate of Appropriateness application to construct a one-story addition on top of the existing building located at 419 Washington Avenue North in the Warehouse Historic District.

The Certificate of Appropriateness application process is described in Chapter 599, Article VI of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances: https://www.municode.com/library/MN/Minneapolis.

The Heritage Preservation Commission will meet on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 317 City Hall, 350 South 5th Street, Minneapolis, MN. Interested parties are invited to attend and be heard. Planning Department staff will issue a recommendation to the Heritage Preservation Commission. After hearing from the public, the Heritage Preservation Commission will make a determination based on required legal findings of fact. Please visit https://www.minneapolismn.gov/meetings/hpc/index.htm for the agenda with staff reports (web page will be updated by the end of the day Monday prior to the meeting date).

In accordance with the Preservation Ordinance, all property owners within 350 feet of the subject property are notified of this public hearing. If you would like to submit comments, you can make them verbally at the meeting or submit them in writing to:

RE: 128 2nd Street North and 128 1st Avenue North

Snow Kreilich Architects and Sharon Cohn have submitted a Certificate of Appropriateness to allow the construction of a new, 6-story, mixed-use building with approximately 160 residential units and ground floor commercial space, consider a master sign plan, and vacation of the alley bounded by 1st and 2nd Streets North and by 1st and 2nd Avenues North. The subject properties at 128 2nd Street North and 128 1st Avenue North and public alley are located within the St Anthony Falls and Warehouse Historic Districts.
