New Bar Will Bring Live Music To North First Street
In early 2024, Berlin Music Bar will open at 204 North 1st Street, with “a high quality sound experience, vinyl nights, local acts, and national talent,” according to their website.
In their recent application for a liquor license, they indicated that they’ll also have a full-service restaurant with seating for 74 people indoors as well as sidewalk tables with seating for eight.
The company’s Instagram page says the new bar will be “inspired by the experimental music culture of Berlin. Bringing the energy of live music to North 1st Street.”
In Minneapolis St Paul Magazine’s recent cover story on the North Loop, Berlin’s owner, Rich Henriksen said, “I absolutely love our new home, and we’re excited to be bringing a music bar to the neighborhood.”
Berlin will join Bunkers and The Fillmore as destinations for year-round live music in the North Loop.
The historic building where it’s opening was built in 1888 as a boarding house/hotel known as the Hennepin Hotel. It was most recently home to the Askov Finlayson clothing shop.
