Stay in the Loop

North Loop Block Clubbers Making An Impression

With their bright orange shirts and purposeful “hellos,” more than 20 members of the North Loop Neighborhood Safety Block Club have been drawing attention on the streets of the North Loop this year as they work to keep the neighborhood safe.

In the short video above, co-founder Aileen Johnson explains the volunteer group’s mission to be the eyes and ears of the neighborhood and demonstrate what an engaged community we have.

“Neighbors play a huge role in this,” she said. “They all speak about how much fun they have, how this really helps them feel connected to the neighborhood, how they feel good about what they’re doing.”

The club is looking for as many volunteers as possible. If interested, you can contact either of the co-founders: Aileen Johnson (fritzdoris@comcast.net) or Pat Dawson (pat@congacx.com).
